芝刈り

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

夏は石垣島、冬はモルディブを拠点に毎日遊んでいられるいやいやダイビングをお仕事としているのも妻のサポートがあってこそ。日頃のサポートに感謝して休みの昨日は麻美の弁当屋「Kabiraごはん屋」の周りの草刈りです。
Thanks to my wife's support, I've been working long time as a scuba diving instructor in Ishigaki island and Maldives. Repaying her kindly routine support, I'd mowed glass at the site of her lunch box shop in my day-off yesterday.

久しぶりの草刈りもなんのその２時間ちょっとできれいに刈り上げました。
It's first time after a couple of years, but this wasn't so difficult job. And the condition of rowing machine that one neighbor'd lent me was good, so it's completed within 2 hours.

ど干潮

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

As you know due to gravitation mainly from moon, the sea tide is changing everyday. And in the new moon and full moon we have big tide difference between high tide and low tide, especially in spring it's much bigger in Japan. Today was the one of the lowest tide this year, the surface level is -7 cm at 3:00PM.
みなさんご承知のように海面の高さは満潮干潮によって刻々と変化します。その潮位は月の引力よる影響がもっとも大きく、満月と新月あたりの日は潮位がとても大きく変化します、特にここ日本では春にそれが最大になります。今日は１年のうちでもっとも潮位が低くなる日のうちの１日でした。午後３時潮見表によればその潮位はー７センチです。

In our Kabira Club Med located in, we have no boat marina and diving boats are being anchored in beaches, so we don't have many chances to land boats for maintenance. Therefore it's a big chance for us, taking up this spring tide efficiently to complete some routine works for it today. Main one is changing oil for outboad engines, we're doing it with special care not to pollute the sea.
クラブメッドがある川平には港がありませんので、ダイビングボートはビーチに係船しています。石垣島の市街地にはボートのメンテナンス用のドライドックもありますが、普段はなかなか船を陸揚げするチャンスがありません。ですから潮が大きく引く今日のような日は絶好のボートのメンテナンスデーなのです。まずは船外機のオイル交換、オイルを海にこぼさないように細心の注意を払って、、、、、「うまくいった！！」










She would be operated by faster speed from tomorrow,,,,, wouldn't it?!
明日からちょっと船が早くなるはず！？

再会

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

ぼくがモルディブより石垣島に戻ったと聞きつけて、ビール会社時代の先輩が訪ねてくれました。しかっり目的であるPADIアドバンスオープンウォーターダイバーの講習も昨日無事終了しました。
He is my first friend to visit me to Kabira in Ishigaki island, after coming back from Maldives. In my office worker days I was one of his co-workers, and enjoyed playing rugby in the company team. Of course now he's a diver as well and this time completed PADI Advanced open water divers certification course with me.









２日間５ダイブの講習の労をねぎらってプラウで乾杯！！
He's still working for a brewery company and loves making toast. Last night we made toasts several times to celebrate our reunite and completion of his new higher certification at Pulau.

アフターダイビング

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?









昨晩はダイビングをご一緒させていただいたご婦人たちとクラブメッドのバーで乾杯～。
Last night I was enjoying drinking at Club Med bar with 3 ladies, dived with me the day before yesterday

またお越しをお待ち申し上げております、次回はマンタを見ましょうね。
Unfortunately we could see Manta ray this time, but if they've the next chance coming here again whenever we welcome by our warm hearts.

開店いたしました

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

ユーロダイバーズクラブメッドカビラビーチ、無事開店いたしました。
Our Euro-divers Club Med Kabira beach has just opened!!









ぼくらのユニフォームはこんな感じです。
This is our uniform, that you can buy it at Club Med boutique.









もちろんレンタル器材は全て新品。
Needless to say, our rental gear is all brand new.









お店の概観です。
Our diving center is located in under main bar, on the way to beach from main swimming pool.









早速、目の前のマンタポイントへ出発。マンタの写真でオープニングを飾りたかったのですが、、、、いないので代わりにアオウミガメに登場していただきました。
Manta scramble, one of the most popular diving site in Ishigaki island, is just in front of our Club Med, it takes only 5min. by boat. We'd like by Manta ray to be celebrated our new opening, but no Manta ray............. So instead, I asked it to Green turtle.

追い上げ

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

ユーロダイバーズクラブメッドカビラ、今週末のオープンに向けて急ピッチで準備を進めております。オープン前に皆様にぼくらのチームのメンバー紹介です。
Now we're accelerating to open our new diving center, Euro-divers Club Med Kabira, end of this weekend. Before that, I'd like you to introduce our members.









ぼくの両隣はベンとエイコ、オーニングと梯子がまだですが準備ができたボートでダイビングポイントの視察をしてきました。
My right side is a French guy, Ben and left is a Japanese lady, Eiko. We checked dive sites yesterday with our new dive boat, whose the awning and ladder are not yet fixed.









ダイビングショップの床のペンキ塗りに精を出すアルノー、ちょっと休憩です。
He is Arnaud, another French guy and Eiko's husband. My boss's resting little while, after completing painting a floor of diving center.

この４人でやっていきますのでよろしくお願いします。
This is all our members. If you have a chance seeing us, say friendly "Hello!!".

仕事始め！？

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?


クラブメッドでの仕事は４月７日なので現在、石垣島川平で充電中なのですが、、、昨日は海へ行ってきました。
My working in Euro-divers Club Med Kabira will be started from April 7th, and now I'm spending relaxing time in my home. But yesterday I went to snorkeling trip with guests???









麻美の親戚が石垣島に遊びに来ていて、近くのダイビングショップにお願いしてスノーケリングに行ってまいりました。南国石垣島とはいえまだこの時期の水温は２３度、水温３０度のモルディブとはその差７度、「正直冷たい～」。しかし小学校２年生のアイちゃんよりインストラクターのおじさんが先に音を上げるわけにもいかず、たっぷり２時間泳ぎました。
They're my wife's cousin family from Saitama prefecture, next Tokyo, and tried snorkeling with me. My island, Ishigaki island, is located in south end of our thin and long Japan and well-known as a tropical island among Japanese, but its water temperature is still 23℃ at this moment. Compared with 30℃ in Maldives, the difference is -7℃ and it made me feel very cold in the water. Of course as an experienced diving instructor I couldn't say "Give up" faster than Ai-chan, 8 years old younger sister, and managed 2 hours snorkeling.









久しぶりに見る石垣島川平のマンタです。
It's first time to see Manta in my island since leaving for Maldives in November, 2010. Now I'm coming back to the sea!!

新たなる挑戦

先日ご紹介させていただいたサイドマウントダイビング、日本にブームが訪れる前に？？いち早く体験してみました。
Yesterday I tried "Side mount diving", that was already introduced to you a couple weeks ago in my blog. Just before coming big boom of this new style diving in Japan, I did it.









まずは、セッティング。慣れていない上にタンク２本を用意するので結構時間がかかります。
At first setting, not only I'm not yet used to it but 2 tanks preparation was needed, so it took time before jumping in the water.









本日の講師はこちら、ユーローダイバーズヴィラメンドゥのマネジャーマイク。ボブ・マーレばりのドレッドヘアーがトレードマークのMr.サイドマウントダイバー。
Mike, manager of Euro-divers Vilamendhoo, taught us this new style diving. Dreadlocks are his trademark, of course he's so-called Mr. Side mount diver.









まずはウォーミングアップ、浅瀬で地面すれすれでのホバリング。サイドマウントダイビングの最大の特徴である究極の中性浮力を目指します。
This is warming-up skill, that hovering just above bottom in a shallow depth. In our side mount diving we're trying ultimate neutral buoyancy.









オープンウォーターの講習と同じです、水中で空気がなくなったときのシュミレーション。本日の私目のバディー、フセインより予備の空気源をもらいます。「おい、フセイン早くレギュをくれ！！苦しい～ぞ。」なんちゃって。
It's same as general Open water diver certification course, first skill is a simulation for out of air. I was asking alternative air source to Hussein, my buddy. "Hussein, hurry up. I need your air!!"









続きましてフリーフローレギュレターへの対応。左側のレギュがフリーフローしたので右側のレギュにチェンジ、フリーフローしたレギュのタンクのバルブを閉じてフリーフローが止まったら再びバルブを開ける。
Next is simulation for free flow regulator. After free flow, I change to wright side regulator and close left side tank valve, and open it again after confirming free flow stop.









「さとき、これはどうだ！？できるか～」究極の中性浮力を目指して先生マイクより出される課題を次々と見事にこなし、どうにかしのぎ、、、、、、、
"Can you do this??" Mike showed us demonstrations for acrobatic skills one after another, and we managed them.......










ハイ、最後のポーズ。決まった！？
"O.K. I did it."

これでモルディブはヴィラメンドゥでのダイビングは終了、明日石垣目指してリゾートを出発です。
I really enjoyed my final diving here Vilamendhoo, and leave for Japan tomorrow.

シークレットエージェント

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

同僚のインストラクターから海ネタ情報をもらったとき、ぼくはお客へのブリーフィングで「シークレットエージェントからの情報によれば、このポイントに〇〇がいるとのこと、その場所は～～」と紹介します。
Sometimes I get information about "Hot topic in the water" before going to diving from my co-workers, and introduce it to the guests in my diving briefing on a boat as follow, "According to hot information from my secret agent, at this moment one of very rare species, 〇〇〇〇 is there in this dive site......."

今回もフセインよりビリンギリコーナーの水深１６メートルにカエルアンコウがいるとの情報を得て見事にゲットしました。（見つけたのはぼくじゃなくてぼくのバディーだけどね。）シークレットエージェントさん毎度ありがとうございます。
This time Hussein gave me information about Frog fish in Vilingili corner at 16m depth. Of course I got it, but first discoverer was not me, it's my body. Anyhow thanks to Secret gent, I enjoy diving every time.

バショウカジキ

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?









リゾートのビッグゲームフィッシュングで釣り上げられたバショウカジキです、大きい！！2.5mはあったと思います。もちろん水中では私はまだこの輩にお目にかかったことはありません。
This is "Sail Fish", the 2.5m big fish was caught in resort organized big game fishing. Still I've had no chance to see this cool fish underwater.

モルディブに戻ってくる理由の一つとしましょう、「ダイビングでバショウカジキを観る」。
It's good reason why I'm supposed to be back to Maldives again. Because I really want to see it in the water!!

明らかに別人

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?









カエルアンコウが根付いているクディマレックに行って参りました。今日はオレンジの小さい別の個体に遭遇いたしました。中型の黒い固体は一旦姿が消したあとまた現れ同一個体か別個体か我々の間で論議を呼びましたが、今回は大きさも色も全く異なりますので明らかに別人です。
Today's afternoon destination was Kudimaa Wreck, one Giant Frog fish taking up his abode. Fortunately another orange small one was found. Last time we argued about same individual or different, black middle size Frog fish　appearing again after short time missing. But in this time nobody needs argument, because the color, size and everything were totally different from former Frog fish.









モルディブ出発まで約２週間、まだまだたっぷり楽しみたいと思います。
It's already less than 2 weeks till leaving Maldives, but this diving paradise is still making me happy.

バリの水中にご案内

“世界を潜り倒すたかしさん”が今回はバリでのダイビングの様子を送ってきてくれました。バリの水中世界お楽しみください。ブラックマンタはここモルディブでもお目にかかるこはございません。
Takashi-san, he's a experienced diver exploring all over the world, sent me his new diving movie in Bali, Indonesia. Enjoy it!! Black Manta ray can't be seen even in here diving paradise, Malidives.

カップル

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?









本日、私目の担当は弁当持ち３ダイブのマンタフルディトリップ。たくさんのマンタをゲットしたのはもちろんですが、、
Today I was in charge of full day trip, 3 dives Manta ray trip with lunch on the boat. Needless to say, many Manta made us happy,,,,,,,








今日、一番のヒットはマンタポイントのランガリマディベルでみつけたハリメダゴーストパイプフィッシュ、しかもペアです。同じ被写体でも１匹で写っている写真に比べて、ペアの写真っていいですよね～
But personally my heart most leaped up with Halimeda Ghost pipe fish, besides they were a couple. I think everybody agrees with me that photos of a pair of fish are much better than single.

ぼくも1.5年の単身赴任？？を解消してペアに戻ります。
About 40days later I terminate my single life in Maldives, and restart pair life with my wife in my island in Japan again.

サイドマウントダイビング

How's it going, everybody?









今、西洋世界ではこんなダイビングが流行りだしています「サイドマウントダイビング」。最大の特徴は通常の背中に背負うダイビングに比べて体がより流線型になること、つまり水の抵抗をより抑えることができます。もともとはケーブダイビング用のスキルですが、今は既にサイドマウントはケーブダイビングだけのものではないようです。もちろん２本、３本とタンクを増設することも可能です。いつも流行は西洋世界から！？これが日本で流行るか否かは？？
Have you ever seen one? Yes, it's "Side mount diving", that's original from cave diving but already not only for cave but for outside cave. The biggest advantage is you can make yourself more streamline than normal our back mount diving, and minimize the resistance underwater. Of course you can arrange 2, 3 or 4 tanks in side mount. Everytime newest trend from Western world, but still I don't know when we can see it in our Japan.

石垣島

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

３月末に石垣島に帰還することになりました！！
I go back to my home, Ishigaki island, end of March!!

川平のクラブメッド内にユーローダイバーズが新たにダイビングショップを開くことになり、再び川平で潜ることになりました。現在勤務しているユーローダイバーズはここモルディブをはじめ世界７ヶ国で合計２１のダイビングセンターを開設しており、そのいくつかはクラブメッドの中にあります。川平のクラブメッドへの新規出店にあたり、石垣島から来た私に転勤辞令が下りました。
Our Euro-divers opens a new dive center in Club Med Kabira in my island, Ishigaki island in Okinawa, Japan in April, and I work there as a diving instructor. Euro-divers run 21 dive centers in 7 countries world wide, and some of them are in Club Med in Egypt, Indonesia, Maldives, Mauritius and Thailand. Of course I appreciate the company, that give me good offer going back to my home & diving in Ishigaki again!!

早速、当ブログの看板の架けかえです。

終わりよければ全て良し

東京からのお客様、ユミコさん、ショウジさん、マサコさん、ミノルさんです。到着された日は大荒れの天候の影響でマーレからリゾートに到着するシープレーンが大幅に遅れ、ダイビングの日数が１日削られてトータル３日間に、、、、、でも最終日の昨日は晴天べた凪の絶好のコンディションでのフルデイトリップ（弁当持ち３ダイブ）、午前中のランガリマディバルでの２本のマンタダイブでは合計６匹のマンタ、午後のアンガガティラではいい感じの潮にも恵まれ触れそうなくらい近くにネブリブカとロウニンアジとなかなかの釣果。その夜のバーでの打ち上げではダイビング談義に花が咲いたのは言うまでもありません。
Yumiko-san, Syoji-san, Masako-san and Minoru-san, they are from Tokyo. Due to bad weather condition their sea plane from Male to the resort was delayed much, and so their diving days with us reduced to total 3days. But yesterday, their final diving day, in tropical hot sun shine & calm sea conditions our full day trip (3dives trip, lunch on board) absolutely succeeded. In morning 2dives at Rangali Madivaru (Manta point) total 6 Manta ray welcomed us, in afternoon dive at Angaga Thila in good current White tip reef shark & GT (Giant Trevally) approached very closely to us. After that our drinking & talking at bar was continuing till late night.

BRICs（ブリックス）

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

昨日はインドのバンガロールから新婚旅行でいらっしゃったカーティさんとシバさんの体験ダイビングをご一緒いたしました。
Yesterday I dived with an Indian honeymooners couple, Keerti & Siva from Bangalore. They tried their first time underwater blue world in Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) course.









結果はもちろん大成功。
Of course the result was absolutely successful, they really enjoyed it.

ところで経済がいいのでお金もよく回っているのでしょう！？我々の水中世界でもBRICｓ（ブリックス、Bはブラジル、Rはロシア、Iはインド、Cは中国）からのお客様（さすがに、ブラジルは遠すぎるのでいらっしゃいませんが、、、）からのお客様が目立つ今日この頃です。
By the way in our underwater industry as well, Euro-divers Vilamendhoo welcomes many guests from BRICs (B for Brasil, R for Russia, I for India and C for China, as you can see in these countries economics are growing up rapidly. Brasil is little far from Maldives, so not many guests from there.) nowadays. We, Japanese used to be one of the most popular guests countries, but now....... "Revive Japan!!"

スリーピング！？ツバメウオ

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

２年前に行ったインドネシアはラジャンパットでも拝見した“スリーピングツバメウオ”です。ツバメウオは流れが強いもしくは強すぎるポイントでは体を横に倒して地面と水平な状態で水中をホバリングしています。
"Sleeping Bat fish" was already introduced in Satoki blog when went to Raja Ampat in Indonesia 2 years ago. Today also I one Bat fish they was hovering with lying down his body against strong current, whose flat body was almost parallel to the sea bottom.









なぜ？？
But why do they do??

水中でも航空力学が働く！？横になった平べったいツバメウオの体の上下で水流の速度が違うので飛行機と同じ揚力が発生、ツバメウオは楽に水中でホバリング姿勢を保てる？？ツバメウオをこの事実を知っていて激流の中でも楽にホバリングするために体を真横に？？
Even underwater aerodynamics is available, isn't it? Due to the difference speed of current between over the flat body and under as well as airplane wings, they instinctually obtain lift force, don't they? Compared with keeping the flat body vertically, horizontally could be easily hovering against strong current by using the lift force.

軽トラサイズ

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

ぼくが石垣島で潜っていた頃、軽トラックぐらいの大きさをナポレオンを見たという真しやかな噂が流れました。流石にモルディブでも軽トラサイズのナポレオンはいませんが、軽トラの荷台に乗りきらないほど大きいナポレオンは結構よくいます。
Some years ago still I was in my island, Ishigaki in Japan, there's a rumor that very huge Napoleon wrasse as big as a Japanese 660cc small truck (3.4m x 1.5m)was seen among local divers. Of course even in Maldives I've had no chance to see such a big size Napoleon ever, but many chances to see big Napoleon whose size is too big to load on bed of the small truck.

金の鳥かご！？

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

本日、私目はお休み。でも、、、、、、当然縦９００メートル＆横２００メートルからのリゾートを脱出することはできません（こんなこと書くと高～いお金を払ってきていただいているお客様に怒られてしまいますが）。同僚のハルがうまい事を言ってました、「おれ達は、鳥かごの鳥。休みの日でも大空に飛び立てない、でもその鳥かごは“金の鳥かご”」。
I had day-off today, but..........Of course couldn't go out from the resort. I really hesitate in the face of the guests who pay much money to us to say that. But it's true, it's impossible for us to escape from 900m x 200m small island even in our day-off. A couple of weeks ago Hal, one of my colleague, told me a good mot, we're birds in a cage and can't extend wings nor fly in blue sky even in day-off, but the cage is "Golden cage".









さぁ、明日からまたバリバリ潜りたいと思います。
I've already full-charged, and work (dive) hard from tomorrow!!
